The Office of the District Fishery Development Officer (DFDO), Barpeta has invited offline applications from existing progressive fish farmers for selection under the JICA-ASAPALI Scheme 2026-27. The scheme aims to improve fish farming productivity by introducing quality fish seed, feed, and scientific fish farming practices in existing ponds. Eligible fish farmers can collect the prescribed application form from the DFDO office and submit it on or before 15 July 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must satisfy all of the following conditions:
- Must have an existing fish pond between 0.4 and 1.5 hectares.
- The pond should have recorded an average productivity of more than 3 tonnes per hectare.
- Water sharing pattern must be 80% Government share and 20% beneficiary share.
- Selected beneficiaries must execute a 20% project cost agreement through a prescribed format.
- Only fish seed, feed, lime and prophylactic measures will be provided under the project. Pond clearance and dewatering must be carried out by the beneficiary.
- 30% of beneficiaries will be selected from the women category.
- The pond must be owned by the applicant or an immediate family member (with a No Objection Certificate, if required).
- Leased ponds must have a minimum lease period of 7 years.
- Beneficiaries must be residents of the project area.
Documents Required
Applicants must submit self-attested copies of the following documents:
- Two recent passport-size photographs
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID Card
- PAN Card
- Bank Passbook
- Land documents/Land allotment certificate issued by the Circle Officer within the last three months
- GPS photograph of the perennial individual fish pond
- Notarized NOC for joint property (if applicable)
- Caste Certificate
- Undertaking stating that the applicant has not received any State Government, externally aided, or Fisheries Department-funded scheme for the same land during the last five years
- Undertaking confirming that the particular land has no disputes

- Beneficiaries will be selected according to the norms and guidelines of the JICA-ASAPALI Scheme.
