AIDC Common Infrastructure Proposal 2026 – Food Processing Sector

The Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (AIDC) has invited proposals from FPOs, FPCs, Co-operatives, SHGs and their Federations for setting up Common Infrastructure in the Food Processing Sector under the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).

The proposed common infrastructure will support food-processing activities and facilities such as processing, sorting, grading, warehousing and cold storage. Eligible organizations can submit their expression of interest/proposal to AIDC within 30 days from the date of advertisement.

Who Can Apply?

The following organizations are eligible to submit proposals:

  • Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)
  • Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs)
  • Co-operatives
  • Self Help Groups (SHGs)
  • Federations of eligible organizations

There is no pre-condition of minimum turnover or prior experience of the applicant organization. However, the applicant should have substantial capacity to set up the proposed common infrastructure/processing line assisted under the scheme.

The common infrastructure may also be made available for use by other units on a hiring basis.

Applicant's Contribution

The applicant organization is required to contribute a minimum of 10% of the project cost.

The balance amount may be funded through a bank loan.

Before applying, the applicant organization must obtain in-principle approval from the lending bank for the loan envisaged for financing the project.

Financial Assistance

The notice provides for a Credit-Linked Capital Subsidy @ 35% of the eligible project cost, subject to a maximum ceiling of ₹3.00 crore.

The total eligible project cost should not exceed ₹10 crore.

The eligible project cost comprises:

  • Plant & Machinery
  • Technical Civil Work

However, the following are excluded from the eligible project cost:

  • Cost of land
  • Rental/lease of workshed

The technical civil work component should not exceed 30% of the eligible project cost.

Additional Benefit Under AIF Scheme

Applicant organizations will also be eligible to receive 3% interest subvention on Capital Investment, up to ₹2.00 crore Project Cost, under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) Scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare.

The benefit is subject to the fulfilment of the applicable criteria under the AIF Scheme.

The proposed common infrastructure can include facilities for processing and post-harvest management of agricultural produce.

Eligible activities include:

  • Assaying of agricultural produce
  • Sorting
  • Grading
  • Warehousing
  • Cold storage at the farm-gate
  • Processing lines
  • Related common processing infrastructure

The notice specifically mentions processing facilities for products including:

for preparation of the DPR.
