Assam Energy Development Agency Recruitment 2026 – Apply for Finance & Accounts Officer Post

The Assam Energy Development Agency (AEDA), under the Science & Technology Department, Government of Assam, has released an official recruitment advertisement for the appointment of a Finance & Accounts Officer (FAO).

 Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for 1 Finance & Accounts Officer vacancy on a contractual basis initially for a period of three years.

Interested and eligible candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format through a sealed envelope on or before 17 November 2026 (up to 2:00 PM).

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess any one of the following educational qualifications:

1. Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com) in Accountancy from a recognised university.
2. CA Intermediate Passed.
3. CMA Intermediate Passed.

Age Limit

• The age of the candidate must be:

Essential Professional Experience

• Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Finance and Accounts.

• The experience should be in any of the following organizations:

1. Government Department
2. Government of India or Government of Assam Organization.
3. Semi-Government Organization.
4. Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).
5. Autonomous Body.
6. Reputed Multinational Company.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• The selected candidate should have sound practical knowledge and experience in the following areas:

1. Field/area of general accounting systems.
2. Preparation and finalisation of annual accounts, including Balance Sheet.
3. Compliance relating to Income Tax, GST, TDS and Labour Cess.
4. Forest Royalty, including deduction, deposition and return filing.
5. CPF/Provident Fund-related matters.
6. Operation and transactions through PFMS portal.
7. Matters relating to procurement through GeM.
8. Preparation of budgets and estimates.
9. UC & SoE.
10. Salary/Payroll Payments and Disbursal.

• Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge of handling CAG and AG audit-related matters.

Salary

Period of Engagement

• The engagement will initially be for a period of 3 (three) years.

• However, continuation of engagement will depend on satisfactory performance, conduct and yearly performance review by the competent authority.

• The engagement will be purely contractual and will not confer any right or claim for regular appointment under AEDA or the Government of Assam.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting of Candidates

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their educational qualifications and relevant professional experience.

2. Personal Interview

• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before the Selection Committee.

3. Interview Notification

• The date, time and venue/mode of the interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through the email address provided in their application forms.

4. Final Selection

• The Agency reserves the right to adopt any other appropriate selection procedure, if necessary, depending upon the number of applications/candidates received.

2. Prepare a detailed CV.
3. Attach two recent passport-size photographs.
4. Attach self-attested copies of all testimonials/documents in support of educational qualifications, starting from Matriculation onwards.
5. Attach documents supporting professional experience.
6. Attach a valid proof of age.
7. Attach Government-issued ID proof, such as PAN Card/Aadhaar Card/Voter ID.
8. Attach a valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
9. Place the completed application and supporting documents in a sealed envelope.
10. Clearly superscribe the envelope with "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF FINANCE & ACCOUNTS OFFICER".
