Assam Scholarship for Differently Abled Students 2026-27: Apply Online for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric & Top Class Scholarship
The Department of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, has invited online applications for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Top Class Scholarships for Differently Abled Students for the academic year 2026-27. Eligible students with benchmark disabilities can apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) within the prescribed dates.

SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME AVAILABLE
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship
- For students studying in Class IX and Class X.
2. Post-Matric Scholarship
- For students studying from Class XI to Post-Graduation level.
3. Top Class Education Scholarship
- For Graduate and Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma courses in notified institutes of excellence.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Disability Requirement
Applicants must:
- Have a benchmark disability of 40% or more
- Possess a valid Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority or a valid UDID Card.
2. Income Criteria
For Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship
- Annual income of parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per year.
- Income Certificate must be obtained from the concerned Circle Officer of the Revenue Circle.
For Top Class Scholarship
- Annual income of parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh per year.
- Income Certificate must be issued by the concerned Circle Officer of the Revenue Circle.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS
- Applicants or their parents must link their bank account with Aadhaar.
- Scholarship amount will be credited directly to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account of the beneficiary.
- Aadhaar is mandatory for all applicants.
- In case of minor applicants without Aadhaar, the Aadhaar of parents or legal guardians is mandatory.

HOW TO APPLY
All fresh and renewal applicants must complete One Time Registration (OTR) and face authentication before applying through the National Scholarship Portal.
- Before submitting the scholarship application, applicants must generate a One Time Registration (OTR) Number by registering through the NSP OTR App and completing face authentication.
- After obtaining the OTR Number, candidates can log in to the NSP portal, select the applicable scholarship scheme, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application before the last date.
- Applicants who had applied in previous years and already received an OTR number can use the same registration details.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
- Only students with 40% or more benchmark disability are eligible.
- Aadhaar-linked bank account is required for scholarship disbursement.
- Income certificate must be obtained from the concerned Circle Officer.
- Fresh and renewal applicants must complete OTR before applying.
- Applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted.
- Students should ensure that all documents are uploaded correctly during the online application process.
