POWERGRID Recruitment 2026: Field Engineer Vacancy in Arunachal Pradesh – Apply Online

POWERGRID has invited applications from eligible and experienced candidates for engagement as Field Engineer (Electrical) and Field Engineer (Civil) on a contractual basis under its Comprehensive Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Scheme in Arunachal Pradesh, North Eastern Region (NER). A total of 40 vacancies are available, including 25 posts for Electrical and 15 posts for Civil Engineering candidates. The engagement is initially for 24 months or until completion of the projects, whichever is earlier.

Eligible candidates with the required B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) qualification and relevant post-qualification field experience can submit their applications through the POWERGRID online registration system. Educational Qualification

1. Field Engineer (Electrical) – Post ID 563

Candidates must possess a full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical discipline or equivalent qualification from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.

2. Field Engineer (Civil) – Post ID 564

Candidates must possess a full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil discipline or equivalent qualification from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.

Discipline: Civil Engineering

Experience Required

For both Field Engineer posts, candidates should have at least one year of post-qualification experience in areas such as:

• Design
• Engineering
• Construction
• Testing & commissioning
• Rural Electrification (RE)
• Distribution Management System (DMS)
• Sub-transmission (ST)
• Transmission Lines (TLs)
• Sub-stations (S/S)

Experience in a PSU or listed company, particularly in the power sector, will be preferred.

Training, teaching, internship and apprenticeship periods will not be counted as experience for this recruitment.

Salary

• Pay band of ₹30,000–3%–₹1,20,000

Contract Period

The engagement is purely temporary and contractual for 24 months initially or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The contract may be extended for one year at a time for up to three additional years, subject to work requirements, allowing a maximum cumulative period of five years.

The notification states that eligible Fixed Term Employees (FTEs) who complete at least two years of tenure may be provided an opportunity for selection to regular posts through an internal selection process, subject to POWERGRID requirements, performance and applicable policy.

• Eligible and shortlisted candidates will be called for the Interview.
• POWERGRID may conduct a Screening Test, if required.
• The Screening Test may be conducted to shortlist candidates for the Interview.
• If conducted, the Screening Test will be for elimination/shortlisting purposes only and will not carry weightage in the final merit.

Screening Test

If conducted, the screening test will be of 1 hour and will consist of:

• The questions will be MCQ-based with four options. Each question carries one mark and there will be no negative marking.
• Candidates can appear for the Personal Interview in Hindi or English.

Qualifying Marks

• Screening Test: 40% for UR/EWS candidates & 30% for reserved vacancies
• Interview: 40% for UR/EWS & 30% for reserved posts
