Essential Educational Qualifications

Option A: Academic Qualification

1. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/relevant discipline.
2. Candidates must have a substantial record of publications and evidence of quality research work.
3. A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a total research score of 120.
4. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a university or college as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, or equivalent research experience at a National-level institution.
5. Candidates must have evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.

OR

An outstanding professional holding a Ph.D. degree in the relevant or applied disciplines from any academic institution (not included in the above category), industry or other relevant organisations, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge of the concerned discipline.

Such candidates must have documentary evidence of their contribution and at least 10 years of experience.

Desirable Qualifications

1. A degree or diploma in Distance Education or experience in a Distance Education Institution
2. Adequate knowledge of computers.
3. Proficiency in both Assamese and English languages.

Essential Educational Qualifications

1. Candidates must possess a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systems are followed.
2. At least 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor in Academic Level 11 and above, with at least 8 years of service in Academic Level 12 and above, including experience as an Associate Professor, along with experience in educational administration.

OR

Comparable experience in a research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education.

OR

15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

Desirable Qualifications

• A Ph.D. Degree from a recognised university.
• Experience in conducting Public Examinations in any University. Experience in an Open University will be given additional weightage.
• A degree or diploma in Distance Education.
• Experience working in an Open University or Distance Education System.
• Working knowledge of computers.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 55 years as on the last date of application submission.
• No upper age limit will apply to internal employees of the University, subject to fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions and other applicable requirements.
