Pay Scale: ₹57,700–₹1,82,400 (Academic Level-10).

Educational Qualification

1. Assistant Professor

• Candidates applying for Assistant Professor posts must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:

1. A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in the concerned subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, as applicable, may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Ph.D. Exemption from NET/SLET/SET

Candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to 11 July 2009 shall be governed by the provisions of the then-existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the institution awarding the degree.

Such candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in universities/colleges/institutions, subject to the following conditions:

• The Ph.D. degree must have been awarded in a regular mode.
• The Ph.D. thesis must have been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
• An Open Ph.D. viva voce must have been conducted.
• The candidate must have published at least two research papers from the Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
• The candidate must have presented at least two papers based on the Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or any similar agency.

he fulfilment of these conditions must be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.

In case a Ph.D. degree is obtained from a foreign university, it will be governed by the relevant UGC Regulations.

2. Controller of Examination

Candidates applying for the Controller of Examination post must possess:

• A Master's degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
• At least 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor in Academic Level-11 and above, or 8 years of service in Academic Level-12 and above, including experience as an Associate Professor, along with experience in educational administration.

Alternatively, candidates must possess:

• Comparable experience in a research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education.

OR

• Fifteen years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or in an equivalent post.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in conducting or assisting university/college/institution examinations and other allied work at the executive level.
• A record justifying the entrusting of confidential work
• Working knowledge of computers and networking is mandatory.

Important Instructions

1. Online submission of applications is mandatory.
2. Reservation policies of the Government of Assam shall apply.
3. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must submit the prescribed category certificates.
4. In-service candidates must apply through the proper channel or submit a No Objection Certificate.
5. Candidates with 40% or above disability, certified by the competent authority, will be eligible for PwBD reservation.
6. Applications received after the last date will not be accepted.
7. Candidates must first register on the above portals before filling out the application form.
8. Candidates should keep a digital copy of their photograph and signature ready.
9. Experience certificates must clearly mention the appointment period, duration, scale of pay/pay band and grade pay/pay level, wherever applicable.
10. Applications will be scrutinised by a Screening Committee. Incorrect or deficient applications may be rejected.
11. Relaxation, if any, will be as per UGC guidelines and the relevant regulatory bodies.
12. All mandatory fields must be completed.
13. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
14. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
15. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview/written test.
16. After successful submission, candidates should download the application PDF and send its hard copy with self-attested supporting documents.
17. Appointments will initially remain temporary until confirmation after a minimum probation period of one year, which may be extended if necessary.
18. Selected candidates must be medically fit, both physically and mentally.
19. A No Court Case Certificate from the competent authority must be submitted at the time of joining.
20. The university reserves the right to withdraw the advertised posts or decide whether to fill them.
