BTC PGT Recruitment 2026 – Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) must fulfil the following academic and professional qualification requirements.
1. Academic and Professional Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Postgraduate Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent from a recognised university.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualification from an institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
- Candidates must have studied the same subject as one of their subjects at the degree level.
- Degrees obtained through off-campus and distance education modes will not be considered valid. However, the following degrees and diplomas obtained through distance education are considered valid for employment:
- Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU).
- Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
- Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) under Gauhati University.
- Distance Education under Dibrugarh University.
2. Medium-Wise Language Qualification
In addition to the academic and professional qualifications, candidates must fulfil the following language requirements according to the medium of the school:

BTC PGT Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process
1. Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test
- There will be one common question paper for all PGT vacancies, irrespective of the subject.
- The TET-cum-Recruitment Test will carry a total of 140 marks, distributed as follows:

2. Additional Marks
- NCC: 5 marks for NCC Certificate (C Certificate) and 3 marks for B Certificate.

- Fine Arts and Cultural Activities: 5 marks for achievements representing the state officially at the National Level.
Additional Weightage
The notification also provides the following additional weightage:
- Candidates who passed the earlier Higher Secondary TET but have not been appointed will receive weightage of 5% of the marks secured in TET, subject to a maximum of 5 marks.
- Eligible candidates engaged on a six-month contractual basis by BTC authority in 2025 in Mathematics and Science subjects in ME, High and Higher Secondary Schools under the BTC area will receive an additional 5 marks.
