The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released the official notification for Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET)-11, 2026. Vacancy Details

AIIMS will recruit candidates for Nursing Officer posts through NORCET-11. Selected candidates will be considered for appointment in AIIMS New Delhi and other participating AIIMS institutions based on merit, eligibility, preferences filled by candidates, and vacancy availability.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy either of the following eligibility conditions:

Option 1

• B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) or State Nursing Council recognized institute/university.

• OR

• Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute.
• Registered as Nurse & Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.

Option 2

• Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute.
• Registered as Nurse & Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital having at least 50 beds, obtained after acquiring the essential qualification and nursing registration.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age - 18 Years
• Maximum Age - 30 Years
• The age will be calculated as on the 13 August 2026
• Eligible Date of Birth - Candidates must have been born between 14 August 1995 and 13 August 2008 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of two Computer Based Test (CBT) stages:

Stage-I: NORCET Preliminary

• Qualifying examination
• 100 Multiple Choice Questions
• Duration: 90 Minutes
• Negative marking: 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer

Stage-II: NORCET Main

• Merit deciding examination
• 160 Multiple Choice Questions
• Duration: 180 Minutes
• Negative marking: 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer

Final selection and institute allocation will be based on the performance in Stage-II, candidate eligibility, preferences, and availability of vacancies.
