AIIMS NORCET 11 Exam Pattern 2026

The AIIMS Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) 11 will be conducted in two stages: Stage I (NORCET Preliminary) and Stage II (NORCET Main). Candidates must qualify the Preliminary examination to become eligible for the Main examination.

Important Notes

AIIMS NORCET 11 Syllabus 2026

The syllabus will be in accordance with the educational qualification and experience prescribed in the eligibility criteria.

Stage I Syllabus

  • General Knowledge
  • Aptitude
  • Nursing subjects taught at the essential qualification level

Stage II Syllabus

  • Entire syllabus of Nursing courses taught at the essential qualification level
  • Case scenario-based questions to assess nursing skills and professional competency

Preparation of Merit List

  • The final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of Stage II (NORCET Main) performance.
  • Stage I is only a qualifying examination and its marks will not be considered for the final merit.
  • If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, AIIMS normalization rules will be applicable.
  • Seat allocation will be based on Stage II merit, candidate preferences, and eligibility for participating institutes.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates secure equal marks in Stage II, the merit will be decided in the following order:

  • Candidate with fewer wrong answers in Stage II.
  • Higher marks in Stage I.
  • Fewer wrong answers in Stage I.
  • Older candidate (Date of Birth).
  • Alphabetical order of the candidate's name, followed by father's name and mother's name.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy either of the following eligibility conditions:

Option 1

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) or State Nursing Council recognized institute/university.
  • OR
  • Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute.
  • Registered as Nurse & Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.

Option 2

  • Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute.
  • Registered as Nurse & Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital having at least 50 beds, obtained after acquiring the essential qualification and nursing registration.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age - 18 Years
  • Maximum Age - 30 Years
  • The age will be calculated as on the 13 August 2026
  • Eligible Date of Birth - Candidates must have been born between 14 August 1995 and 13 August 2008 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of two Computer Based Test (CBT) stages:

Stage-I: NORCET Preliminary

  • Duration: 90 Minutes

Stage-II: NORCET Main
