JNVST 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy all the following eligibility conditions to apply for the JNVST 2027 Class 6 Admission:
- Must be a bona fide resident of the district for which admission is being sought.
- Must be studying in Class V during the 2026–27 academic session in a Government, Government-aided, Government-recognized school, or an eligible NIOS institution.
- Must have studied and completed one full academic session in Classes III, IV and V from recognized schools.
- The candidate must be born between 01 May 2015 and 31 July 2017 (both dates inclusive).
- Candidates who have already passed or repeated Class V are not eligible to apply.
- A candidate can appear for the JNVST only once.
- Students must apply only for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) of their district of residence. If studying in a neighbouring district, the school must be within the prescribed distance and meet NVS eligibility conditions.
Reservation of Seats
The reservation of seats for JNVST 2027 Class 6 Admission is as follows:
- Rural Quota: At least 75% of the seats in each district are reserved for candidates from rural areas. The remaining seats are filled on merit from both rural and urban candidates.
- SC Reservation: Reservation is provided in proportion to the SC population of the district, with a minimum of 15% as per national norms.
- ST Reservation: Reservation is provided in proportion to the ST population of the district, with a minimum of 7.5% as per national norms.
