UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination 2026

• Medical Officers Grade in General Duty – 864 Posts
• Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (Railways) – 450 Posts
• General Duty Medical Officer (NDMC) – 14 Posts
• General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) – 30 Posts

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS examination.

Candidates who are appearing in the final MBBS examination may also apply, but they must produce proof of passing before the interview stage.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 32 years as on 1 August 2026
• For Medical Officers in Central Health Service: 35 years

Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories as per government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in two stages:

1. Written Examination – 500 Marks
2. Personality Test / Interview – 100 Marks

Written Exam Pattern

• Paper I: General Medicine & Paediatrics
• Paper II: Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine
• Each paper carries 250 marks.

Examination Centres

The examination will be conducted across various cities Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, Guwahati region (Dispur) and many others.

Admit Card

The e-Admit Card will be available on the UPSC website one week before the examination. Candidates must download it online as it will not be sent by post.
