ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must be a local resident of Karbi Anglong District.
- Must have passed at least HSLC
- Should possess overall comprehension ability and willingness to assist needy people.
- Should have compassion, empathy and concern for the upliftment of marginalized and weaker sections of society.
- Must have commitment towards providing legal assistance and social service.
Eligible Categories of Applicants
Applications may be submitted by persons belonging to the following groups:
- Teachers, including retired teachers.
- Retired Government employees and senior citizens.
- M.S.W. students and teachers.
- Anganwadi Workers.
- Doctors and Physicians.
- Students and Law Students (until enrolment as lawyers).
- Members of non-political and service-oriented NGOs and clubs.
- Members of women neighbourhood groups, self-help groups and vulnerable community groups.
- Educated prisoners with good conduct serving long-term sentences.
- Spouses or adult children of serving defence personnel.
HONORARIUM
The work of a Para Legal Volunteer does not carry any regular salary, wages or remuneration. Selected volunteers will receive honorarium as fixed by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) or Assam State Legal Services Authority from time to time as per applicable rules.

SELECTION PROCESS
- Applications will be scrutinized by the Selection Committee.
- Eligible candidates may be shortlisted for interview.
- The decision of the Selection Committee regarding shortlisting and selection will be final.
- Information regarding shortlisted candidates will be published on the official notice board and official website of Karbi Anglong District Judiciary.
