The Directorate of Land Records & Surveys, Assam has released a fresh recruitment advertisement for 579 Land Record Assistant (LRA) posts under the amalgamated establishment of the District Commissioner’s offices, except Sixth Schedule areas. The recruitment is open to eligible candidates who have completed the six-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training and fulfilled the prescribed examination requirements.

Candidates applying for the Assam Land Record Assistant (LRA) Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the following qualification requirements:

1. Candidates must have passed the six-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training conducted by the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati-40.
2. Candidates must have been declared proficient in the mandated examination in both Survey and Settlement subjects through an official result declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam.
3. The required RCCC training and examination qualification must have been completed before the commencement of Government Notification No. LA&A/429557/158 dated 13 August 2026.
4. Candidates must also have computer proficiency, including a minimum typing speed of 30 WPM in English and 15 WPM in Assamese/Bengali.

Selection Process

• The Assam Land Record Assistant (LRA) Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of a Written Examination, Computer Proficiency Skill Test, and Document Verification.
• The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Written Examination and Skill Test, subject to meeting the prescribed qualifying marks and fulfilling all eligibility conditions.

1. Written Examination – 80 Marks

• The written examination will be conducted in Objective Type (MCQ) format.
• 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

2. Computer Proficiency Skill Test – 20 Marks

• Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Computer Proficiency Skill Test.
• The skill test will be practical in nature and will assess English and Assamese or Bengali typing. It carries 20 marks.

• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• Final selection will be based on the aggregate marks of the Written Examination and Skill Test, subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions and applicable category-wise reservation.
