CTET September 2026 Notification Out – Online Application Starts From 11 May
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the public notice for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 examination. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to submit their online applications through the official CTET portal from 11 May 2026.
The CTET September 2026 examination for Paper-I and Paper-II is scheduled to be held on 06 September 2026 across 132 cities in India in 27 different languages.
If the number of candidates increases significantly, the examination may also be conducted on 05 September 2026 (Saturday).

CBSE will conduct the CTET examination for both:
- Paper-I
- Paper-II
The examination will be organized in 27 languages across 132 cities throughout the country.
CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
CTET Paper-I Eligibility Criteria (Classes I to V)
A candidate must fulfill any one of the following conditions:
Option 1
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
Option 2
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education according to NCTE regulations.
Option 3
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Option 4
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Option 5
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
CTET Paper-II Eligibility Criteria (Classes VI to VIII)
A candidate must fulfill any one of the following conditions:
Option 1
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Option 2
- Graduation with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
Option 3
- Graduation with at least 45% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) according to NCTE regulations.
Option 4
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Option 5
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
Option 6
- Graduation with at least 50% marks, and
- Passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
Relaxation in Marks
Relaxation in qualifying marks for reserved category candidates such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled candidates will be provided according to the rules of the Central Government.
Important Instructions for Candidates
Candidates must note the following important points before applying:
- The application process will be completely online.
- Candidates will not be able to choose their examination city during application submission.
- Examination cities will be allotted randomly by CBSE.

- Candidates must upload correct documents and details while filling out the form.

CTET 2026 Admit Card
CBSE will release the CTET September 2026 admit card two days before the examination date on the official website. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards using their login credentials.
CTET September 2026 Result
The CTET September 2026 result is expected to be declared by the end of October 2026. Candidates can check their results online through the official CTET portal.
Important Points to Remember
- Last date to submit the online application form is 10 June 2026.
- Application correction facility will remain open from 15 June to 18 June 2026 only.
- No correction will be allowed after the correction period.
- Candidates should regularly visit the official website for latest updates and announcements.
