Eligibility Criteria

1. For Engineering Departments

• Master’s Degree (M.Tech/M.E) or equivalent with minimum 60% marks / 6.5 CGPA
• OR B.E/B.Tech with valid GATE score

2. For Science Departments

• Master’s Degree in Science with minimum 65% marks / 6.5 CGPA
• Preference to GATE/NET qualified candidates

3. For Humanities & Managements 

• Master’s Degree in relevant subject with minimum 60% marks
• MBA (for Management) with 60% marks

Note: Relaxation of Marks available for reserve categories as per norms.

Scholarship /  Fellowship

Candidates will be eligible for fellowship as per MoE/ Institute norms. GATE/NET score / Qualification is a mandatory criterion for scholars for making themselves eligiblefor receiving scholarship during the tenure of PhD.The award and/ or renewal of the fellowship will be as per the guidelines issued by MoE and the Institute, from time to time. For Non-GATE/ Non-NET Candidates admitted in science departments with eligibility criteria are eligible for scholarship @ Rs. 13,000/- per month based on availability and decisions of competent authority from time to time. The award and/ or renewal of the fellowship will be as per the guidelines issued from time to time. Such scholars will be required to work as Teaching Assistant (TA) in the concerned Department and scholarship may be given strictly upon satisfactory performance of academic activities in the Department, duly certified by the Head of Department.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisted based on eligibility by the respective Department
2. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for the Online Test of 30 Marks to be conducted ny the NITA.
3. The Test will be of MCQ type questions covering UG & PG levels of respective Subjects
4. The qualified candidates will have to face personal Interview.
5. GATE/ NET qualified candidates may be exempted from the written test.

1. Visit the website of the institute given in the table for admission OR visit direct to https://admission.nita.ac.in
2. Register using e-mail ID
3. After Registration application ID with pasword will be send to the registered e-mail
4. Using the login credential, applicants must login to the Admission Portal for form filling.
5. Fill Application form carefully
6. Upload required documentations
7. Pay Application Fee online
8. Candidates must wait for the payment confirmation message. If not received, candidates may send an email to nitmisagt@mail.nita.ac.in
9. Submit and download the confirmation form for further communication
10. After completion and submission of the online form, PDF format of the application will be generated
