Handloom & Textile Technology Admission 2026 Assam | Diploma Course Admission Notification

The Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Assam has released an official notification inviting applications for Regular Admission 2026-27 into the Diploma in Handloom & Textile Technology (DHTT) course at the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT), Guwahati. Eligible candidates from Assam can apply for 1st Year (Fresh Admission) and 2nd Year (Lateral Entry).

ADMISSION OVERVIEW

ADMISSION DETAILS

1. Fresh Admission (1st Year)

• Duration: 3 Years
• Eligibility: HSLC (Class 10) Pass or equivalent
• English must be a subject
• Age Limit (as on 01-07-2026): for General Maximum 23 Years and for SC/ST Maximum 25 Years

2. Lateral Entry Admission (2nd Year)

• Duration: 2 Years
• Eligibility (Any one): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or 10+2 in vocational stream (Textile discipline) or 10th Pass + H.T.I (2 years) or 10+2 + ITI (2 years)
• Age Limit (as on 01-07-2026): for General Maximum 25 Years and for SC/ST Maximum 27 Years

RESERVATION DETAILS

1. 20% seats reserved for Weaver’s Community
2. 10% seats reserved for EWS candidates
3. SC/ST/OBC/MOBC reservation as per Assam Government rules

MERIT SELECTION

1. Merit will be based on marks obtained in HSLC (10th) or equivalent
2. In case of tie Higher marks in Science & Mathematics will be preferred
